WHY HELLO THERE...

Not sure how late I am at getting on this bandwagon, but have you heard Zara are now doing a home line? Funnily enough called "Zara Home". All I can hope is that it doesn't take too long to reach our shores, so I can get my hands on some!

Ok so maybe I was a little harsh...

I did give the Melbourne Cup fashions is my post yesterday a slight roasting, so thought I had better go through some of the one's I love from today's Oaks Day, and also Derby Day last Saturday.

Jen redeemed herself at Oaks Day in this gorgeous pink. Dress cut is much more flattering, and the flowers in her hair are perfect. (And, yes I know I roasted Delta for pinks & florals - but this works on Jen).

Kate Waterhouse - love the deep red colour of this floral headband.

And, finally a couple of special mentions from Derby Day - Lara Bingle (love the hat) & Jodi Gordon. Can't beat classic black and white.

Melbourne Cup Fashions.

Well, I was planning on doing this wicked awesome blog on the amazing outfits from the Melbourne Cup, but to be honest, I was not particulary impressed. So here we go with just some of the average.

PS - while I was writing this, I was kind of picturing myself sitting next to Joan Rivers on Fashion Police (for those who have Foxtel, and religiously watch channel E will know what I am on about).

Rose Byrne - love her in Bridesmaids and while there really isn't anything wrong with this outfit as such, all I can think is BORING! *YAWN* Although on a side I would love that Chanel handbag to be mine.

Delta, Delta, Delta, what can I say? Even though my husband does have the hots for you, there isn't a lot of niceness I can say about this. Too much, too many flowers, and the flats, at the Melbourne Cup! Did you just forget to put your heels on as you were walking out the door? I do actually like the head piece, but with the rest of the outfit it doesn't work. There needs to be some masculinity in this outfit to break the flowers, pink and frou frou up.

I can't put my finger on what I don't like about this, but its something. I think I perhaps expected something a little bit more exciting on Mischa.

Jen Hawkins - Love her, but don't love this dress shape on her, and the colour doesn't do it for me, plus I am not quite sure how the head piece fits in with the rest of the outfit???

Jesinta Campbell - That hat/ turban, and if you look closely the top is hanging out of the skirt - could have done with some tailoring or at least some hollywood tape to keep it in place.

Country Road.

I am sure most of you will agree that Country Road is a reliable Australian fashion staple. They always produced good quality and long lasting clothes, that are always in the latest trends & colours. There is so much great stuff currently in store. Today I was lucky to snag this versatile white vest (there were only two left on the rack after I purchased mine), and I managed to fit into a size 6, winning!

I am also contemplating on going back tomorrow to purchase some new sandals. In my opinion you can never have too many sandals in summer. I wear them with skirts and dresses for work, on the weekend with shorts, jeans, maxi skirts and maxi dresses. These two pairs caught my eye, exactly the same style, but I love the rose gold, and the black and white snakeskin! Another bonus is the price! It is hard to find a nice pair of sandals under $100 these days, and these bad boys are $89.95!
